Dear Mr. Neinast:

It has come to my attention that you were recently denied entry to the Frankling County Courthouse barefooted. It was subsequently determined that the Court did not have a policy in effect to deny visitors entry when barefooted and appropriate instructions were issued to Security.

The reasons given to me for the security staff's actions were purely for your safety. The Court continually endeavors to provide a safe and secure environment and minimize injuries to employees and all, who visit the courthouse. Security staff was concerned that you might injure your bare feet while exiting through the mechanical turnstiles, or step on sharp objects, such as glass, thumbtacks and similar hazards.

I advised our Administrative Judge, Honorable Marvin S. Romanoff regarding this incident and informed him that I issued a memorandum to Security permitting access to barefooted visitors.

Please accept my apology for not responding your concerns sooner.
