Contained in the board agenda packet was a recommendation to approve two new policies and rescind four existing policies that deal with customer behaviors. Background information was provided in the memo from Jerry Becknell, assistant director of property management, and member of the staff Safety Task Force.
Action Requested: Approval of the resolution for the new Code of Conduct policy and the revised Role of Security Officer policy; recission of Patron Regulations, Staff/Patron Regulations, Personal Profit on Library Premises and Smoke Free Environment policies.
RESOLUTION NO. 90-2004 AUTHORIZATION TO DELETE "PATRON REGULATIONS POLICY", "STAFF/PATRON REGULATIONS POLICY", "PERSONAL PROFIT ON LIBRARY PREMISES POLICY", AND "SMOKE FREE ENVIRONMENT POLICY", ADOPT NEW "CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY", AND REVISE "SECURITY OFFICER, ROLE OF POLICY"
Mr. Swaddling moved, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the Board authorize the deletion of the "Patron Regulations Policy", "Staff/Patron Regulations Policy", Personal Profit on Library Premises Policy", and "Smoke Free Environment Policy", adoption of new "Code of Conduct Policy" and revise "Security Officer, Role of Policy" as shown:
The roll being called on its adoption, the vote resulted as follows:
