BOARD OF TRUSTEES
REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 20, 2009

The Fairfield County District Library Board of Trustees met for its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Main Library Annex Building located at 203 N. Broad Street, Lancaster.

TRUSTEES PRESENT WERE: Mary Davis, Orman Hall, Ronald Keaton, Mary Mesi, and Peter Vandervoort.

TRUSTEES EXCUSED WERE: Dr. Denise Callihan and Margaret Quamme

Also attending were Marilyn Steiner, Library Director; Cathy Woodruff, Fiscal Officer; Leslie Yost, Administrative Assistant; and Eric Warline, Buildings Manager.

The Meeting was called to order at 12:33 p.m. by Mary Mesi, President.

OLD BUSINESS

• Code of Conduct as Pertains to Dress Code - Determination

The Fairfield County Prosecutor, Roy Hart, advised that according to the Ohio Revised Code, the Library Board of Trustees has the right to establish the standards and rules that will be used by the Library. In addition, the Fairfield County Prosecutor stated that it is the fiscal responsibility of the Library to, as much as possible, reduce and eliminate any risks which may potentially produce costly liability. After a brief discussion, the Library Board agreed to maintain its current Code of Conduct and asked the Director to write a letter to Mr. Neinast advising him of this decision.
